3 layer, 8 rib reinforced fiberglass frame

Constructed out of reinforced fiberglass coated in our special edition red paint, our durable frame is comprised of 3 layers of 8 ribs to survive strong gusts of wind and the test of time.

60” double layered, vented mesh canopy

Prevents the umbrella from inverting during high gusts of wind with a vented mesh canopy that allows a passageway for wind coming from underneath the canopy, preventing a parachute effect. Canopy measures a generous 60”.

Teflon coating and inversion technology

Repel umbrellas always use the latest technology available. The canopy is equipped with Teflon to repel rain, snow, dirt, UV rays, and other debris. The water beads on the canopy and the umbrella dries instantly with just a few shakes. The golf umbrella is also equipped with inversion technology that allows the frame and canopy to invert without the ribs breaking during extremely high gusts of wind!

Auto open, fiberglass shaft with carbon fiber look

The umbrella pops open quickly with just the touch of a button. The durable fiberglass shaft looks like real carbon fiber!

Lifetime replacement guarantee

You are protected for life from the rain, sleet and snow, through our lifetime replacement guarantee program. If anything at all goes wrong with your umbrella, we will send you a replacement absolutely free, no return required!

nice product

I got this thing when I was in highschool, it’s been a few years since I graduated and this thing still refuses to let me down, aside from very minor issues like the wrist strap cord deteriorating over the years and the little nubs that keep the canopy on falling off every so often, which is as easy as just popping them back on the frame.

Lock still works perfect, auto spring works good although can be a little sluggish nowadays

As long as you don’t torture your umbrella, this thinks not gonna break anytime soon

3-4 years still going strong

(Minus the magic, attitude, garb, or singing voice.) But it is big and sturdy. The handle is quite nice, the stitching looks first rate, and it overall just has a nice solid feel without being over done. I'm hoping it lasts the couple of decades that it looks like it will.

It's a big umbrella, and it's more likely to make you into the next Mary Poppins.

A great umbrella even in heavy wind. I used it last week during a tornado warning. The wind was very strong, but not sustained. It would surprise you. A little bit, a little bit, then bam! A lot of wind. Almost came out of my hand. But I've got strong hands so I didn't join Mary Poppins. I could feel the wind try to turn the umbrella inside out and ruin it, but it never did. It was just a test to see how strong it was. I usually wouldn't use an umbrella in heavy winds - see reference to Mary Poppins - But it did great.

It did great in the rain.

I love the carrying bag - or whatever you call it. I just toss it over my shoulder and pretty much forget it is there until I need it.

A great product.

One tuff sucker

I bought a couple of the Repel Windproof travel umbrellas 5 or 6 years ago. They have held up well with occasional use and I love the self retracting mechanism and the water shedding coating.

I am going to a lot of my daughter's sporting events and needed something with a larger canopy as the travel umbrella wasn't quite large enough. Very pleased with the quality and the same water shedding coating. It is large enough to cutout the wind driven rain and I am very pleased I bought this. It isn't self retractable but I don't think it would work on a unit this large.

Is this the repel umbrella that was featured on good morning america?
Yes, Repel Easy Touch was featured as the #1 umbrella on Good Morning America. The Wirecutter, an independent third-party, spent 50+ hours during four rounds of testing 33 different umbrellas. Repel surpassed the competition and was the featured umbrella.
How long have you had this umbrella for? Does it still work as well as when you first used it?
I got my Umbrella June 13th, so I have had it for about 2 1/2 months now. I live in Florida and we are in the middle of rainy season, so I have had MANY opportunity's to use it! I REALLY like this Umbrella! So happy that I got it! It works exactly the same as the day I got it! Its even made it through the use of my younger kids! They love pressing the button and jump at the chance to be allowed to use it when getting out of the car in the rain! HA!
What exactly does “lifetime warranty” mean? how do i sign up for the warranty program and what exactly does it cover.
Lifetime warranty means if you ever experience issues with your umbrella, then we will replace it for free. Just contact Repel directly by going to Amazon > Your account > Your Orders > Leave seller feedback > view seller profile > ask question. We will take care of you within 24 hours.
Would Mary Poppins buy this?
Indubitably. It's practically perfect in every way. One might even say it's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. At least, it will be that way until the wind shifts...
How well does it handle wind that gets underneath the canopy? I find that this is how all of my umbrellas have been damaged so far.
I took this out when we had our first big storm here in Mid-Michigan and had no issues with it turning or even bending out. Gusts were around 55 mph I was more worried about it taking off like a kite it was holding up so well.
How does the auto close feature work?
If I were to accurately "rename" the feature, it's a fold-the-umbrella-back feature then, like most [if not all] foldable umbrellas, you need to undo the extended stick/shaft by gripping on 1 end and pushing the tip with your palm. As far as the experience with opening and closing it, it has been seemless.
If you press the button by accident after it is already open, can you put it to reopen or have to push it back down to reload the springs?
You have to push it back down to reload the springs.
«This terrific umbrella is compact and lightweight, and it’s built to withstand wind speeds that are far faster than anything you’ll ever find yourself caught outside in. Accidents do happen, however, which is why Repel offers an unbeatable lifetime replacement guarantee!»
«In one word: It's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! We tried an umbrella with more than 5,000 reviews on Amazon — and it is amazing It held up to coastal winds!»
«This sturdy yet compact umbrella from Repel features aTeflon coating to better deflect water, while the yellow option will inject a sunshiny feeling into rainy days.»
«At 11.5 inches long and 15 ounces, this isn’t the smallest or lightest umbrella on the list, but it is one of the toughest. Thanks to nine extra ribs made from flexible fiberglass, the Repel can take a beating in a windstorm, and its Teflon coating helps bolster the waterproof abilities of the top fabric.»
«While the majority of umbrellas are made of six or eight aluminum ribs, the Repel boasts nine resin-reinforced fiberglass ribs that flex to withstand gusts without turning inside out. The Teflon-coated fabric means the Repel should be almost instantly dry once you shake off the excess water once you have arrived at your destination. Finally, a lifetime guarantee should allay any further fears on purchasing what is one of the cheapest brollies here.»
«After doing 62 hours of research and putting a total of 42 different umbrellas through four rounds of testing—the most recent in the midst of a New York snowstorm—we’re confident the Repel Easy Touch Umbrella remains the best umbrella for most people. This model's durable, nine-rib construction held up admirably against gale-force winds, and it’s as sturdy as umbrellas that sell for more than twice as much.»
«The overall winner. The best umbrella.»
